Homemade Donuts
Thursday, January 27, 2011My Dad's an incredible cook & he whips up amazing stuff soo effortlessly. He made these super awesome Donuts yesterday. I managed to get a few clicks, before these warm Donuts were polished off
The best part about Donuts is that, it can be eaten as a breakfast or as a snack & even as a lunch dessert.

You Will Need:
- 2 cups All purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1 Egg - Beaten
- 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp Butter - Melted
- Oil to deep fry
- Powdered Sugar - To Coat
How To:
- Mix yeast with sugar & warm water. Set aside for about 20 mins or until frothy
- In a bowl, mix prepared yeast, 2 tbsp flour & enough warm milk to make a smooth dough. Set aside for 1 hr.
- In a another bowl, add remaining flour, warm milk, butter & mix well
- Add this to the fermented dough & knead well. Wrap with polythene & set aside to rise for 30 mins.
- Punch the dough to remove air & knead again.
- On a flat surface, roll the dough into 1/4" thickness & cut into rings using a cookie cutter. Then, take a shot glass & cut out holes in the center of each donut.
- In a deep vessel, heat cooking oil. Slide the donuts into the oil & cook 1 min on each side & they tend to brown very quickly.
- Drain them on a kitchen towel & dust with powdered sugar
Enjoy Warm Donuts with a cup of Coffee or Milk .. Enjoi !!!!
