Immunity Boosting Turmeric Ginger Tea
Monday, July 20, 2020
Here is a quick immunity boosting 3 concoction you might want to try. I've been making this Turmeric Ginger Tea for quite a while now, especially during winters
While I am not a health expert but sometimes a cup of herbal tea gives us that feel good factor. With all that happening in the world right now, we need to take care of our immune system more than ever.
I try & use fresh turmeric & Ginger in my diet quite a lot now, especially in my smoothies & herbal teas.
As per Ayurveda, Ginger & Turmeric are both great immunity boosters.
While Turmeric has many many health benefits, it increases body heat so make sure you are drinking this only once a day.
Well, this recipe is a no brainer. Everyone knows how to brew Spiced Tea But I like to document what we eat/drink & share it with others :)
You Will Need:
- A 2 inch piece of Raw Turmeric Root
- A small piece of Ginger
- 1 tsp Honey - I use Manuka Honey *
- Half a lime
- 2 cups water
HOW TO:
Grate Turmeric root & ginger & set aside
In a sauce pan, bring 2 cups of water to boil, As the water is heating up, grate Turmeric Root & Ginger & add it to the water. Let the water come to a rolling boil.
Turn off the heat, strain into mugs. Add Honey & a squirt of lime juice. Mix & Enjoy
NOTE:
You can alternatively use Jaggery to sweeten this.
* Manuka honey is produced from the nectar of the Manuka tree & is known to have various health benefits
If you don't have fresh turmeric root, add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder instead
